Weathering the haze!

Signs and simptoms to watch out for:
  • Breathing problems
  • Nasal congestion
  • Chest pain
  • Eye irritation
  • Itchy throat
  • Coughing
  • Runny nose
  • Skin irritation or itchiness
  1. Drink as much water as possible
  2. Try to stay indoors
    • keep doors and windows shut
    • turn ON the air-conditioning instead of fans
    • mop instead of sweep
  3. Wear a mask if you have to go outdoors
    • especially necessary for motorcyclists, outdoor workers and those in the high-risk category
    • people in the high-risk category include children, senior citizens and those suffering from conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, chronic lung diseaseas and heart-related diseases
    • Avoid smokers and those who work outdoors are also included in this category
  4. Those experiencing chronic asthma, cough, cold, conjunctivitis, heart problems and lung diseases should seek medical treatment as soon as possible if symptoms worsen or persist.
  5. Wash your face, hands and take baths regularly if you're exposed to the haze
  6. Turn on the air-conditioner in ur car shile driving and keep windows up.
  7. Refrain from smoking around sick childreb and the elderly at home as it can intensify their illness.
  8. Refrain from smoking when the Air Pollutant Index exceeds 100.
